    The Brims and Tongues Crew

    The future of fashion

    Founded 2012

Michael Allen woke up one morning threw on his white t-shirt, jeans and hat, and as he contemplated his shoe selection he became frustrated.  Nothing was matching up to the pattern in his hat and suddenly… inspiration.  Within a few hours an innovative fashion concept was born.

It started with a name, Brims and Tongues, and continued with a single sewing machine.  The initial concept was simple.  Make hats with a uncomplicated look and a unique eye-catching design on the underside of the Brim, then create innovative Tongues to match the hats that lace into your existing classic sneakers (with inspired styles like Chuck Taylors, Blazers and Dunks…just to name a few).

The company quickly evolved and soon there was a studio, a creative team of Twin Cities up and comers, add in a few more sewing machines, and finally their own screen-printing machine, and Brims and Tongues was officially on the scene.  Having a screen-printer in house gave way to the Brims and Tongues signature logo.  The logo symbolizes the name of the brand, it’s a character rocking its hat with the Brim titled high while brandishing its Tongue.

Spahn Digital came on board the project in 2012 to build the digital framework of the business.  We designed and built the website, produced most of the product and marketing photography, printed fliers and business cards, and we’re currently working on a comprehensive marketing plan including arts and events, an email campaign, community partnerships, social media and more.

We are thrilled to be a part of this exciting project and look forward to helping grow the next big thing to come out of Northeast Minneapolis.
